Easter 2010

We had a wonderful Easter! We visited with Matt's family in Little Rock and drove back home to go to church with my family.

Berkley enjoyed playing with Easter eggs. He would chase them and bit them until they popped open.

I got to hold this little girl during her first church service. My mom made her an adorable Easter dress. I am hoping that I will have a little girl in the future so she can wear it too!

The 'Easter bunny' brought her a glow worm! She loves to watch things that light up and play music. It is so much fun to see her change and grow!
We had a wonderful Easter filled with family and good food!

Our Anniversary

We had a wonderful 1st Anniversary on the beach! We were lucky enough to get to go to Florida with my mom and sister.

We slept in, ate really well, read good books, and sat in the sun.

Matt was brave enough to get in the FREEZING cold ocean.

On our anniversary we got up and walked on the beach at sunrise. I have never seen the sun rise at the beach, it was beautiful. We also found lots of sand dollars. That night Matt took me to dinner where we had yummy red snapper and clam chowder! Then we went to the Daiquiri Deck to toast our year.

We talked about highlights from our first year of marriage.
- Our first vacation (other than our honeymoon) to Dallas for the 4th of July
- Playing in 8 inches of snow, the most either one of us had ever seen
- Our first big purchase, Matt's truck
As year 2 approaches we are looking forward to buying our first house.

I could not have asked for a better way to spend our anniversary.

Our House Journey

We began looking for houses and my first thought was, "This is going to be SO much fun!" I was so excited to be looking for our first house. Well, weeks later I am thinking that this process is not much fun! The first house we walked into I immediately fell in love! However, Matt found some negatives and we decided to continue our search. Our Realtor showed us multiple houses and we could always find something that we really did not like about each house. One night I mentioned to Matt that I really liked the first house and that we should make an offer. He agreed (because the things he found wrong with the house could be fixed). So we made an offer but could never come to a point of agreement with the sellers. I was crushed because this house had been my favorite since the first day.
While we were on Spring Break our Realtor called and said that a new house came on the market and that she thought we would love it. Matt's mom went to look at it and sent us pictures. We made a conditional offer because the Realtor thought it would be under contract by the time we got home. We later found out that we were in a bidding war for this house that we had not even seen. We offered asking price with closing cost paid but eventually we were outbid by another couple.
I was upset because I was so ready to have a house and have the search process over but I also knew that houses came on the market in the area and were under contract within days. Once we were home from vacation, the sellers from the first house called us to see it we were still interested. Of course I was! We offered them our previous offer and this time they took it!
We are so excited that we now have a house!

I am so thankful to be finished with the house hunting process and to finally have my very own house. In the end I guess everything happens for a reason because we have the house that I have loved from the beginning!
