Welcome 2011

The other night Matt and I were talking about all of the things we did in 2010. We quickly realized what a blessed year we had. 2010 was full of surprises, new adventures, and plenty of life's lessons. Looking back there is not one thing that I would change.

January
Matt was told that he would be promoted into sales and we would be moving to Little Rock.

We experienced a really big snow, about 10 inches!


And...while playing in the snow, we locked ourselves out of our house!


February
We began the long and miserable search for a house. This is an experience that I hope we don't have to go through again for a very long time. I never knew that buying a house was such a time consuming and difficult thing. I learned a lot about cracks in foundation, issues with drainage, and how to identify water damage.


March
Our niece was born!




And she is so stinkin' cute!! :)




We also traveled (with a 2 week old) to the beach for a little rest and relaxation...and to celebrate our 1st anniversary.


April
We FINALLY purchased our first house!! Matt actually picked out the house and had us under contract before I even got to see it...good thing I trust him and actually like our house!




May
I celebrated my 24th birthday, said goodbye to my 1st school, and packed up our house...it was an emotional and exciting month!


We moved into our new house...


with lots of help from our families.


June
Matt learned that yard work is no fun, especially re-landscaping.




Our good friends, Julia and Josh got married.


July
Matt also learned that owning a house is hard work.

We hosted the 2nd Annual Christmas in July party.


We went on vacation to Colorado with Matt's family.


August
I started teaching 2nd grade at a new school.

Our good friends, Kelsie and Jared got married.


September
We found out we were expecting! We were so excited and could not wait to tell all of our family and friends.


October
We found out we were having twins!!!! We were shocked, excited, nervous, happy... When the ultrasound tech said that we were having twins, I think I was in shock more than Matt was! He kept saying, "Wow! I am so excited!" and I kept saying, "Are you sure??"


Berkley turned 4! He is so excited, too!


November
Our good friends, Claire and Robert got married.


December
We found out we were having 2 girls, Payton and McKinley.






Matt celebrated his 26th birthday.


I know that 2011 will be filled with even more excitement, adventures, and surprises and we cannot wait! Welcome 2011!

Happy Birthday to You!

Happy Birthday Matt!!
Matt's birthday fell on a Thursday so he got to have a birthday week filled with excitement!
On Tuesday we went to eat with Matt's extended family. It was great to see everyone that we missed seeing over the holidays.

The boys enjoyed helping uncle Matt blow out the candles.

Wednesday we went to eat the traditional Mexican birthday dinner with Matt's friends. Again, we had a great time seeing everyone.













And what birthday is complete without a sombrero and Mexican birthday song!?!

On his actual birthday, Matt's parents came over and we went to a Hibachi grill for dinner. It was so much fun! We were lucky to get a very animated chef and of course the food was delicious.



A tool box and nice set of tools...I bet these will come in handy real soon!! :)


A new razor...recently Matt has stolen my razor so I got him his very own! (I think I am more excited than he is!)


2 new pair of shoes for work...YAY!

I hope that he had a very special birthday week. I can only imagine his next birthday with two little girls to help him celebrate!

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We are so blessed to have a wonderful family. We really enjoyed our last Christmas as just the two of us but we are looking forward to having 2 little girls enjoying Christmas with us next year...I can only image all of the things we will be doing with them!


This was our first Christmas in our new house. We had a lot more room this year to decorate and I enjoyed every bit of it!!


This was the first Christmas tree we bought in college for our first Christmas together. This year we put it in the dining room and decorated it in honor of the girls. All of the ornaments are circus animals. My favorite are the sock monkeys.

Christmas Eve we had Christmas with Matt's family. We all had a lot of fun opening presents and playing games. This year Matt and I decided to ask for a large gift instead of individual small ones. His family got us a very nice digital camera. We both loved taking pictures with it! It takes the most amazing pictures and we cannot wait to take pictures of the girls!

We spent Christmas morning at our house just the two of us. Then we ate lunch at Matt's parents and headed to my Nana's house.

We had Christmas again with my family. We ate a yummy dinner and got to open more gifts.


We were so excited to see this little girl. Her shirt says, "All I want for Christmas is my Auntie!"

The next day we had Christmas from Santa at my mom's house. Again, we asked for one large joint gift instead of small ones. My mom gave us a very nice video camera! Matt has REALLY enjoyed using the camera. He follows me around the house with his camera in hand...I am beginning to regret the video camera decision. I am hoping that when the girls come his focus will change to them!!
