SURPRISE!!  Happy 21st Birthday, Aunt Adrienne!

The girls and I surprised my sister for her 21st birthday.  She had no idea that we were coming and NO idea that we were having a PARTY!!
A few of her friends and co workers met at my aunts for drinks and appetizers then Sara and I took her to dinner downtown.

The girls enjoyed their appetizers and making a big mess on Aunt Karen's floor!
Lily Kate was the entertainment, playing hide and seek with everyone!
Happy Birthday!  So glad we got to celebrate with you!!

My little helper got a hold of my measuring tape while I was trying to measure her for a new dress.
She loved chewing on it...until I got all of my measurements and took it away!
Little Stinker!!

I have been sewing/embroidering more and more.  I have grown to love my machine and I love to find new things to make for the girls.
I absolutely love the Valentine's Day outfits that I made for them.
I had to bribe my little models with yogurt melts, but it worked and I got some great pictures!

We got a box in the mail and the girls LOVED playing with it!!  I love that they still enjoy the simple things.
Over the past few weeks we have noticed that the girls hand eye coordination has gotten better.  They are getting more and more food into their mouths at meal time.  It is so neat to watch them master a new skill.
The girls sleeping has also gotten a little better.  We have been moving the first baby awake to the pack n play in our room.  If it is a work night Matt will go to the spare bedroom to get some sleep before work and I will stick it out with the awake baby, patting her on the back every 5-10 minutes until she is asleep.
Last night Payton woke up at 4:30 and I put her in the pack n play.  She didn't cry long before she was back to sleep.  McKinley slept in her bed until 6:00.  Matt got up with McKinley until he went to work.  Even though they didn't sleep ALL night they slept better.

The girls are both now pulling up on everything, especially the coffee table.
They are starting to walk down the table.

Sweet Payton peeking over the top of the table.
I love those sweet little baby hands!

I noticed the other day when we were in the car that the girls were "talking" to each other.  I watched them in the mirror lift their heads to look at each other.  I didn't know what they were saying but they seemed to be carrying on a conversation between each other!!

I love cuddle time with my girls.  I don't think they will ever be too big to sit in my lap!

January 24, 2012

Payton has learned a new trick!  She can now STAND up in her bed.  Matt had to move her bed down so that we don't have a escapee during the night!

McKinley also learned something new.  She can now take all the wipes out of the container!
We are so proud of all the new things are girls are doing! :)

My grandmother gave the girls sliver rattles for their Baptism.
Tonight the girls found them on the shelf and began chewing on them.
These rattles were a BIG hit, I guess they gave their teething gums a little relief!

None of us sleep very well at night so we are all into drinking coffee in the morning!
The girls are going to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 and they are now waking up around 10 to get in bed with us.
I know it is 100% our fault for putting them in bed with us in the beginning but a momma (and daddy) have to get sleep sometime.
It started with colds and I just couldn't leave them crying when I knew they didn't feel good so I put them in bed with me.
Then, they were cutting teeth...then it quickly became a very bad habit.
Now, I don't know what we are going to do to get these girls to sleep through the night.  To the baby sleep books we go...

Our little snow bunnies.  I am so so so thankful that we do not live in a place that gets feet or even inches of snow, I just hate the cold.  We had to run a few errands so we bundled the girls up.  They are too cute with their hats and gloves.

Miss Payton has developed a temper.  She has started throwing herself on the floor when she doesn't get her way or McKinley takes something away.  We have our work cut out for us!!

January 18, 2012

Our sleeping habits have gotten worse and worse by the day!  They are waking up earlier and earlier.  We let them cry for a little while but I don't want them to wake up the other.  My thought is, one up is better than two up!  I will put the awake baby in the pack n play in our room but then Matt doesn't get any sleep because she just screams in our room.  So, the result is the baby sleeps with me!
But they are so good during the day and so adorable!!
McKinley is pulling up on EVERYTHING she can.  She will stand alone for a few seconds.  She is on the verge of walking!

Oh, the joys of having a sibling.  My girls will always have someone to play with but they will also always have someone that they must share with, too.  I am so thankful that they will have someone to in share in each life experience.  However, I am not looking forward to breaking up with countless fights over toys, shoes, clothes!
The girls are starting to interact more and they are starting to want what the other has.
Most of the time McKinley takes something from Payton and Payton will scream at her.  OR Payton will take something from McKinley and quickly crawl away with it!
The arugment over toys goes on and on...I just try to stay of out it let them work it out!
The girls have a new found love for the refrigerator, or their reflection in the refrigerator!
At the end of the day, there is nothing sweeter than messy baby faces!

Just another day in paradise! We had such a fun Sunday with our girls.  We went to church then spent the rest of the day just playing at home.  The girls are so so much fun these days!
We found a paint app for the ipad that the girls absolutely love!  McKinley got to play with it before church this morning.

Daddy has also discovered that his old favorite cartoon, The Gummy Bears, is on youtube.  He plays it for the girls all the time...I think he is more into it than they are!!

Our sweet Payton playing after church.
Payton has a crazy obsession with socks.  She loves to chew on or carry around any sock she can find.
Matt was laying on the floor playing with them and she kept trying to feed him her sock!  He was a trooper and played right along with her.

The girls are really into butternut squash right now.  I am so thankful that we do not have picky eaters.  So far they have eaten everything we have given them.  I am hopeful that this lasts and they will always enjoy eating a variety of fruits and vegetables.

Story time with Mommy before bedtime bottles. Payton has really gotten into books lately and will sit and listen for awhile.

Matt always makes the girls night time bottles and tonight instead of just handing each baby her bottle, he decided to try something a little different.  He put the bottles across the room to see which baby was the faster crawler.  The girls saw the bottles and immediately took off.  Payton was in the lead most of the time but McKinley quickly caught up!

We did take the caps off and let the girls enjoy their bottles!!
