The girls and I made it to 33 weeks!! Right now they are gaining weight and their lungs are getting more developed. They are still moving around a lot. Baby A gets the hiccups a lot. Baby B is very active and enjoys hanging out in my ribs! It is amazing that I can already distinguish their personalities. I cannot wait to see their personality develop on the outside.
We had out 33 week doctor appointment. The girls heartbeats were really good. He said they should be weighing around 4 pounds, if not a little more. I told him that I had had a lot more strong contractions the previous weekend. He decided to check me and see if I had changed. Of course, I had changed...I am now dilated to a 2 and I am 80% effaced. He was very clam but I could tell he was a little concerned. He said that he wanted me to go to Labor and Delivery so that they could monitor contractions and give me iv fluids. We spent a few hours being monitored and he said the contractions were still irritability but there were real contractions mixed in. While there we learned that first time pregnancies will efface before dilating. We were relieved that this is normal and that I can still wait a week or so without going into real labor.
We will go back to the doctor in a week to have an ultrasound and see how much their girls weigh and their position. Our goal is to make it to at least 35 weeks if not 36 weeks.
