The girls first Thanksgiving

Matt had the honor of carving the turkey this year and he did a great job, the slices were perfectly cut!

I love that they are eating baby food. I made them their own, pureed, version of Thanksgiving. They may have also gotten to eat Nana's real Thanksgiving, too!! :)

McKinley trying some 'real' sweet potatoes not the bland puree, they were very yummy!

Payton really loved mashed potatoes, especially with all the butter!!

Nana makes the BEST Thanksgiving meal!!

The girls reading a story after our big lunch.

Trying on a baby doll bonnet to get into the Thanksgiving spirit.

Hanging with uncle Alex, even though the orange was blinding!! :)

We had such a great Thanksgiving with the girls. We got to get lots of wonderful food, relax, watch a little football, and it is always fun to spend time with family.

Today Payton learned how to scoot!!! We now have 2 mobile babies!!

I'm not sure how I am going to get anytime done during the day with the girls doing in 2 different directions. It is so fun to watch them explore and discover new things.

The girls are so excited that they get to spend the next 4 days with their Daddy. (I am looking forward to the extra pair of hands!! :) )

I couldn't resist this picture of the girls after waking from their afternoon nap, I love those sweet, sleepy faces.

They really enjoy sitting with each other in their crib. They just look at each other and smile, it is like they have to greet each other when they get up.
Matt brought down the Christmas decorations last night so I decided to get a few things up during nap time, since we will be gone for Thanksgiving I wanted to get a head start on decorating.

The girls just stared at the tree and McKinley went straight for the tree. Luckily, she can barely reach the bottom branch but I have a feeling I will have to put the ornaments on only the top half of the tree this year! We are looking forward to decorating and seeing the girls excitement in all the lights.
Tonight when Matt got home McKinley took a break for exploring all of the Christmas things and crawled across the room to him. She was so proud of herself once she got to him. She reached up and had the biggest smile when he picked her up!

The girls are getting around better and better each day. McKinley has been army crawling for a few days, she is slow but gets where she wants to go. Payton is watching McKinley intently and it will only be a few days before she gets the hang of it too!
Today McKinley learned how to dump the toy basket into the floor. She was pretty impressed with herself and loved chewing on each toy. I am pretty sure this will be an everyday occurrence now that she knows who to do it!

McKinley and Payton's Baptism

Our sweet babies were Baptized this morning. We were able to have the priest that married us baptize our babies. It was very special to have him be a part of our marriage and a part of our children's first big event in the church.

The girls wore their coming home gowns that my mom made. They had on diamond cross necklaces that were mine and aunt Adrienne's. They also wore gold baby bracelets that our good friend, Julia gave them when they were born.

You’ve been a special blessing
since the day that you arrived,

Bringing so much happiness
and filling hearts with pride...

And now that it’s your Baptism Day,
this brings a special prayer

That God will always keep you
in the shelter of His care.

McKinley and her God Parents, Aunt Adrienne and Uncle Brad.

Payton and her God Parents, Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Dan.

We were so glad that most of our family made the drive to share in our girls special day. After the Baptism we had everyone over for lunch at our house.

Our sweet girls are very loved and blessed to have such a wonderful family to lead them and guide them throughout their life.

McKinley had an appointment at Children's Hospital a few weeks ago to have her hemangioma evaluated. It had ulcerated and our pediatrician had referred us to a specialist at Children's. At our appointment the specialist had said that it was nothing to be too concerned about but recommended that we have a couple rounds of laser therapy. She said that the laser therapy would help to prevent it from ulcerating again, because it can be very painful when it ulcerates.

So this morning we had our first laser treatment. We had to be at the hospital at 6:30 so we woke the girls up around 5:45! We got to the hospital and were funneled from one receptionist to the next until we ended up in the surgery waiting area. We waited in the waiting room for an hour and a half, which was a challenge with 2 active little ones!! They finally called us back and the whole procedure took about 10 seconds. The nurse covered McKinley's eyes and the doctor took a laser and zapped around the hemangioma. They said that it felt like small rubber band pops. McKinley was a trooper and seemed more upset that her eyes were covered than the pain of the laser. She was great once we picked her up...well once her daddy was holding her! :) We will go back in a few months for another treatment and hopefully it will be our last.

I have noticed that as the girls are getting bigger our days are getting more busy and today was a very busy day for these little active munchkins!

McKinley wiggled her way to the entertainment center.

She discovered all of the little knick-knacks on the bottom shelf.

I am pretty sure that she knew she shouldn't be over there because she kept turning around and looking at me. I would tell her no but she would just keep climbing onto the shelf. The self was empty by mid morning!

After breakfast the girls got to look out the window while I vacuumed and mopped. They were mesmerized by the light and the things outside, they just sat and starred out the window. I don't know why I have never done this before but we will probably do this more often!

The girls are more and more interested in Berkley each day. They particularly love his collar and will grab his tags or hit them to hear them jingle.

Poor Berkley, he is not too fond of his 2 new playmates!

When Matt gets home at night the girls love to spend time with him and will prefer him over me sometimes! I think he enjoys their attention more than they do!

Just give Payton her baby and she is content just to sit and play. She doesn't care too much about exploring the house and getting into trouble!

These little girls are definitely daddy's girls!

Miss Payton decided that she did not need a morning nap so she got to hang out with me while I was getting dressed. She was after anything within her reach...our toothbrushes, earrings, lotion bottles... I gave her toys but she threw them off her tray so I let her have a tube of mascara.

She was so content sitting in her Bumbo chewing on her tube of mascara. She would chew on it while starring at me putting on makeup.

She is going to be my little girly girl!

Our sweet girls enjoying the beautiful weather after a long walk in the park! I will always remember this day...just a fun, relaxing day with our family.

Our friends, Julia and Josh, came to visit! The girls were spoiled with lots of undivided attention.

They were down for a wedding but were able to make it back to our house to watch the Arkansas game. The boys watched the game, checked stats on their phone and "gossiped" about the plays, while Julia and I hung out with the girls.

Payton was spoiled by Julia and got to try Daddy's homemade salsa! She kept licking her lips and crying for more, I guess Matt will have to share his recipe with her one day!

We loved visiting with them and wished they lived closer!
