We are so excited to be heading to see my family and celebrate Lily Kate's 2nd birthday.
Miss McKinley let go of the coffee table and stood by herself for a few seconds!!  We were so excited and I think we scared her because she quickly sat down!  She got back up and stood again, though!!
Payton is walking holding on to the table and she is getting around the table pretty fast.  I know that she will be standing alone very soon.

These sweet babies keep me on my toes!
They are getting so big and are now discovering everything around the house.  Gone are the days when they would sit on their blanket and play with their toys.
They are interacting more and they are starting to argue and fight with each other.  I am just amazed that they have started THIS early...it is going to be a long road of disagreements in our house!  :)
At this point McKinley will take a toy away from Payton and Payton will scream at her.  Payton will also flail her arms in anger.  It is so funny the way they fight.
I know I shouldn't laugh at them but it is just so cute...for now!  A lesson of sharing is in our near future!

Every night Matt goes out to water the garden and every time he goes outside the girls go to the window crying after him.  They love to be outside and they love their Daddy.

I just love to sit back and watch the three of them interact.  They are too sweet together!

The weather is getting a little nicer and we are enjoying taking the girls outside.  They are still not too sure of the grass but I think they are enjoying the outdoors, too.
We decided to take the girls on a few errands this afternoon and since they did so good at lunch earlier in the week we thought that it would be fun to take them to lunch in between a few places.
We decided to eat at Buffalo Grill because it is one of our favoirtes.  We get in and get everyone settled into highchairs and put our order in so that we don't have to wait long.  We put snacks in front of the girls to keep them entertained.  McKinley begins throwing her food on the floor and SCREAMING, not the cry screaming, the I am going to scream as loud as I can because I like to hear myself scream.  I gave her a sippy cup and she threw it on the floor and kept squealing and laughing at herself.  We tell her 'no' when she screams and she says 'no' right back, which is a new thing as of today!  Everyone is looking at us as we try to find something that will quiet her.  Matt picks her up and she squirms so he hands her to me and she screams.  At this point, Payton is quietly eating and everyone is still starring.  We decided to get our food to go and McKinley and I waited outside while Matt got the food and paid.  I am not sure why she was squealing but we will NOT be going back out to eat any time soon!!
My sweet girl that is so quiet and patient!!  Payton's yeast infection is clearing up and she is doing much better!  I am so glad to have a happy baby again!
McKinley is starting to get into more and more things.  She is realizing that she can pull up and reach things.  She is now pulling everything off of tables and shelves and throwing them on the floor.  She is also pulling up on the highchairs and pushing them around.

The girls absolutely LOVE to stand at the back door and look outside.  If it is ever really quiet I can typically find them at the door just staring outside.
We went to eat lunch with Daddy, which we don't get to do very often so it was a fun treat.  This was the first time that we went out and actually ordered something for the girls to eat.  They sat in their highchairs and ate vegetables and even got to try sweet potato fries.  They were so good and it was a nice break to get out of the house!
Yesterday Payton had a slight diaper rash, I put cream on it and thought it would just go away.  Today it is worse.  We let Mimi see and she said it looked like a yeast infection.  I call our doctor and they told me a cream to get.  I am so hoping it goes away soon I can tell it really hurts her.

My friends planned a trip to the races this weekend so my mom and sister came down to stay with the girls.  They have been begging for a long time to keep the girls over night so we decided that since Matt's parents were out of town we would go to the races then stay at their house for a full nights rest.
This sweet little girl always finds something fun to play with at Mimmy's house (especially in the messy panty)! :)
While we were going mom took pictures of the girls for us.
I think they ALL had a great time together.
And we had a great time with our friends and a great FULL nights sleep!  But we were up bright and early ready to get home to see our girls.
After we got back Lily Kate discovered that we had a hermit crab, my class pet that has been with me for years now!
She was very interested and even held it!!
We are so thankful that my mom and sister came down to keep the girls so we could have a much needed night out!

Dog-pile on Daddy!  These girls LOVE when their Daddy comes home.

February 16, 2012

The girls have discovered the scale in our bathroom and absolutely love to push it around and sit on it!  They will even sit still while we weigh them.
If I can't find them I know they have crawled into my bathroom to play with the scale!  One day they will come to hate the scale! :)
The girls are really into Cheerios right now.  I have started putting them on the coffee table so that I can start dinner or do what I need to do and they are content to walk around the coffee table and eat Cheerios.
One of my new favorite discoveries.  They will stay busy eating Cheerios for 30 minutes!

 Happy 1st Valentine's Day!
This morning McKinely had her 2nd laser treatment for her hemangioma.  I felt horrible that we did her 1st treatment on her 1st Halloween and her 2nd treatment on her 1st Valentine's Day.  So, I got up early and made homemade waffles for breakfast.
When the girls woke up they were very intrigued by their Valentine's balloons.

The just stared for awhile then began to tug on the string.  It was so fun to watch them discover new things.
McKinley did such a great job at her appointment.  Matt went in with her and I waited in the hall with Payton. (I decided that I didn't want to watch it for the 2nd time, even though it really wasn't worse than a shot.)
This afternoon they got to dig into their Valentine's treats.
There is nothing better than cookies and veggie sticks!!!
 YUM!
We had such a great Valentine's Day with our girls.  Matt even cooked steak after the girls went to bed.  There is no other way I would have liked to spend Valentine's Day than at home with my family.

Two sweet girls watching the bathtub fill up.I am so thankful that they love taking a bath.

Lately, the girls have been very busy learning new things.  McKinley is now opening the cabinets in the kitchen and we have had to install the child proof locks.  Payton is very into books and will sit still to listen to someone read.  She will also sit alone and turn the pages 'reading' to herself.  She is also signing more!

No use crying over split Cheerios...when you have 2 babies and a dog to eat them off the floor!
The girls heard the box drop and came crawling over excitedly to help themselves!
I let them eat a few, because I had just mopped that morning.
Berkley got to eat the rest! Why get out the vacuum when you have a dog willing to clean up your mess!? :)

 10 Months

Payton
Payton wears size 2 diapers and size 3 at night for extra absorbancy.  She wears 6-9 month clothes.  She is eating solids 3 times a day and a snack in the afternoon.  We introduced a little apple juice with water in a sippy cup at all meals to get used to using a sippy cup more.  Payton has three 6 ounce bottles a day and an 8 ounce bottle at night.

Payton loves to clap when someone says "Yay!".
She loves to hold and crawl around with a bear that sings "Jesus Loves Me".
Her little temper is starting to show.  She threw herself on the floor throwing a fit because I took a dirty sock out of her mouth.  She loves to chew on her socks and will not keep them on her feet.  She also loves Daddy's or Mommy's socks!

She pulled up in her crib to 'talk' to her sister.
She hates peaches, I am guessing because of the texture.
She has a total of 4 teeth now!
Payton, we love to watch you crawl around with things.  We joke that you will be a pack rat one day!  You have a little spitfire personality coming out and you will stand up for yourself if someone takes something from you.  We love watching you grow and change!  We love you sweet girl!

 McKinley
McKinley wears size 2 diapers and size 3 at night for extra absorbancy.  She wears 6-9 month clothes.  She is eating solids 3 times a day and a snack in the afternoon.  We introduced a little apple juice with water in a sippy cup at all meals to get used to using a sippy cup more.  McKinley has three 6 ounce bottles a day and an 8 ounce bottle at night.
McKinley 'talks' non-stop!  She is babbling sounds and trying to communicate with us!
She is curious about EVERYTHING and wants to be where we are.
She is pulling up on everything, especially my leg!  She wants to be up and know what is going on around her.
McKinley loves everything we put on her plate.  She is such a good eater and even if she makes a funny face the first bite she will try it again and will typically love it by the end of the meal.

She is now sleeping until 5:00!!  We are hoping this is the new normal and she will start to sleep later and later.
She now has 5 teeth!
McKinley, you are so curious and love to know what is going on around you.  You love to be right where we are at all times.  I love watching you get stronger each day.  We love you sweet baby!

I am just amazed at home much they have grown in just 10 short months.  This month we have been working on more 'toddler' things and weaning away from 'baby' things.  I am so amazed that they have been so good with each transition.  They are doing so well using sippy cups and eating solid foods.  I am so excited that they are healthy and growing but it makes me sad to see the baby things go!

The girls love banana pancakes and homemade sweet potato fries.  They also went to eat with us and tried a real french fry which they loved!
We put the girls in their high chairs and let them try one of their cupcakes.  We decided that we had been torturing them for 10 months by making them take pictures with cupcakes that we should at least let them have a bite!  It was also practice for the big 12 month cake!  They loved it, of course, and wanted more!

February 8, 2012

I am so thankful that I can stay home with the girls because it enables us to spend a few days in the middle of the week with my family.  I love being with my family and so thankful that my girls get to know my family.
The girls found a new place to play, thanks to their big cousin leading the way! :)
These three girls had so much fun pulling things out of the cabinet.  And the adults had so much fun putting the things BACK IN the cabinet! :)
It made for some good memories and great pictures of cousin time.
The girls also learned the meaning of the word "dogpile" when playing with their aunt!
