Thursday night the forecast was calling for inches of snow and ice over night. We were very disappointed when we woke up to 34 degrees and clear streets. However, Friday afternoon it started snowing! It snowed enough for school to be let out early. Matt and I got home just before large snowflakes fell.

We enjoyed playing in the snow, especially since we got off work early and were about to enjoy to daylight!

It snowed large snowflakes for hours and hours!

We woke up to snow covered trees this morning.

Matt measured and we had about 7 inches of snow, the most snow either one of us has ever seen.

We decided to spend some time outside with Berkley playing in the snow. Berk was not sure about all the snow. He enjoyed running in circles and eating the snow.
Since we had so much snow we set out to build a snowman. After half and hour Matt decided to let Berkely inside since he was not enjoying the cold snow anymore. After he let Berk in he shut the backdoor, locking us out in the 24 degree weather.

He tried everything to get us back in the house, meanwhile, I continued to build the snowman!

Finally, I was frozen enough to help find a way to get us back in the house! I found a pitchfork in our backyard and told Matt to pry it under the window to lift it up and pop the lock off.

It worked and Matt crawled through the window. We were finally back in the house!
After we thawed out we went back outside (leaving the door open this time!) to finish our snowman. Here is the finished product.

Berkley was not sure about this large mound of snow.

What a great weekend in the snow! We will always remember being locked out in the snow for an hour and building a great snowman.
